Stila In the... Palettes Review

Recently, I picked up 3/4 Stila palettes (I already owned In the Know), and wanted to do an updated blog post about them, so here it is! You can pick up your palettes here :) *You might want to grab a snack, its a long one*

In the Know

If you are looking for an all matte, neutral palette, this is the perfect palette for you! I use this palette nearly every time I do my makeup, it has every staple neutral color I need. This palette has a few warmer colors, as well as some cool ones. This specific palette is amazing and a must have in anyones makeup collection. Matte shadows look great for natural everyday looks, or paired up with other shadows. If you have more mature skin, this is the palette to go for. Matte shades do not emphasize fine lines or wrinkles, as a glitter or shimmer would.
Like I said the colors are all matte, and they are all a creamy matte, not a powdery matte. These shade all blend together beautifully! The shadows are also very pigmented and long wearing. The shadow names are not only under each shadow, but on the back of the palette as well. My favorite shade is Fire, the bright orange. It compliments blue eyes beautifully!

Top Row L-R; Air, Wind, Desert, Clay, and Earth.
Bottom Row L-R; Driftwood, Fire, Rain, Smoke, and Ebony.

This palette comes with a full sized smudge stick water proof eyeliner in Halfmoon, and if you have ever tried any Stila eyeliners you know how mazing these are. Halfmoon is a deep grey color, and wears amazingly.
In the Garden

In the Garden, has 2 matte shades, and the rest are shimmers / glitters. This one has a few neutral colors, as well as some pops of color. Again, this is a great palette to have. If you wear bright colors every once in awhile, but mostly neutrals, and like the color selection, I would pick up this one. Its all up to your personal preference.
The shadows in this palette are so unique, I would pick it up just because it is different than the average eyeshadow palette. My favorite shadow from this palette is Sage.

Top Row L-R; Chinois, Breeze, Bark, Freesia, Rosette
Bottom Row L-R; Nectar, Honey, Sage, Moss, Juniper

Starfish, is the full sized smudge stick that comes with this palette. It is a green toned bronze with gold glitter.

In the Light

In the Light, is probably the most well know of these palettes. It is a mix of matte and shimmer neutrals. Like the other palettes, the quality of these shadows are great, creamy, blendable, and pigmented. This one is a great everyday palette too, you can easily transform it from a day to night look! My favorite shades are Sunset, and Kitten.

Top Row L-R; Bare, Kitten, Bliss, Sunset, Sandstone
Bottom Row L-R; Bubbly, Gilded Gold, Luster, Night Sky, Ebony

Damsel, is a creamy, rich, blackened chocolate (the BEST of the four smudge sticks included in the palates!!!).

In the Moment

Lastly, we have the In the Moment palette. This is the purple toned palette, and if you have green or brown eyes, get it. All eye colors look great with purple tones, but green and brown look stunning, and really make the eyes pop with purple shadows. My favorite color from this palette is Improvise.

Top Row L-R; Instinct, Impulse. Glance, Improvise, Catalyst
Bottom Bottom L-R; Desire, Wonder, Spontaneous, Whim, Captivate

Tetra smudge stick, is a deep amethyst with pink, purple, and blue glitter.

The packaging of these palettes is similar to the original Naked palette from Urban Decay, minus the velvet. It is cardboard with a magnetic closure. I personally love this packaging, even when I get makeup on it, I can use a makeup wipe to remove unwanted stains.
Overall, I love these palettes. I see myself using them all the time, so be prepared to see a few looks using them!

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer Review

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer 'Chantilly'

First of all, NARS has the classiest packaging, and it makes me want to buy all their products, even if I don't need them. But this concealer is a must have in my makeup bag!

You may have heard beauty gurus rave about this product on YouTube, and this concealer deserves it. I really wanted to do a blogpost on this, since I have had it for 6 months, but have been hesitant because I do not have the proper shade. I will update the blogpost when I find my proper shade!

Regardless, this concealer is very opaque, creamy, but on me, it creases. I do not know what it is, every concealer or the under eye creases on me no matter what. When I say it creases, its not unbearable, but when I make the extra effort to put on makeup, I want it to look flawless.
Although this creases on me, I have used it on my sister, and it works beautifully on her, no creases!
The shade I have is 'Chantilly,' and it is the lightest shade available, so I figured it would be doable, and I could work with it if it did not work. Sadly, thats not the case for this concealer. Because it is so opaque, it is too light for me, and I will have to get a darker and more pink shade. But 'Chantilly,' is a beautiful shade, it does not lean pink, but more neutral/yellow.

Even though this shade is too light for under eye concealer, I use it as an eyeshadow primer. It works great to cancel the discoloration on my lids, and keeps the eyeshadow on all day long. Once I use this baby up, I will be repurchasing it in the proper color for me.

Simple, Step by Step, Taupe Eye Makeup

Happy Holidays everyone!

Product List:
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Maybelline Color Tattoo in Tough as Taupe
Stila In the Know Palette
MAC Soft and Gentle MSF
Anastasia Beverly Hills double ended brush, or a shader brush, and fluffy pencil brush
Real Techniques base eyeshadow brush
Covergirl Clump Crusher mascara
Maybelline Clear Brow Gel / Mascara
NARS Radient Creamy Concealer
NYC Smooth Skin Pressed Powder in translucent

1. Prime your upper and lower lids
2. Apply a thin coat of the Maybelline 'Tough as Taupe' Color Tattoo onto the upper and lower lids, avoiding the inner corner and crease, with a flat shader brush and fluffy pencil brush
3. Using your Real Techniques base eyeshadow brush, gently blend the edges of the color tattoo
4. Use 'Rain' from the Stila in the Know palette on top of 'Tough as Taupe,' with the same shader brush and pencil brush
5. Pick up 'Air' onto the same Real Techniques brush, blending away the harsh edges of 'Rain'
6. Add more 'Rain' until you are satisfied with the darkness of the look
7. Using your finger, apply MAC MSF in 'Soft and Gentle' to the brow bone and inner corner of the eyes
8. Finish up your face, and the look is complete! (super easy, right?!?)

You may have noticed that all of the looks I post do not have liquid eyeliner, simply because I like the way my eyes look without it! I feel that eyeliner makes my eyes look like small little dots on my face haha, feel free to add liner to any look of mine that you try! Eventually I will post a few looks with liner, but I just prefer no liner looks because I love them and I rarely see any in the beauty community.
(Don't mind my crazy eyebrows lol, they were not cooperating!)

The BEST Drugstore Concealer, EVER!

Behold, the glorious, Hard Candy, Glamoflauge concealer. You can pick up this concealer anywhere Hard Candy is available. The most common place I see Glamoflauge is at Walmart, and that is where I picked mine up.
Let me start this off by saying, this is a FULL coverage concealer, that will cover anything. And I mean anything.
When I picked this up on a whim about two years ago, I used to have more frequent breakouts. The tube I have is the original one I purchased, and I still have a ton of product! Saying this, I do not wear face makeup often, maybe 3 times a month if there I am going out for something nice. Now that my skin has cleared up a lot, I only use this every now and then. But when I had skin issues I used this bad boy when ever I wore makeup.  I really recommend this to anyone who has any breakouts, even if you only get a breakout every now and then. It covers everything without looking cakey.

I usually apply this over primed skin, and a matte powder over it. It covers everything I want it to, while leaving my skin looking natural. (I use the shade light).
Now, when you use this product, you need the tiniest amount! A rice sized dot will be enough to cover your entire face with it, so be careful not to apply too much! If you apply too much, it can look cakey fast.
I do not wear foundation unless its a super special occasion, or I am feeling fancy. But this concealer looks amazing with foundation as well.

Colourpop Cosmetics Lippie Stix Review

First of all, hello! You need to buy these lip sticks now. Go buy them, I can wait.

Haha, but seriously, you need these beauties in your life. If you are an avid beauty lover, and are on Instagram and watch beauty videos on Youtube, you have probably heard of these already. But, for those of you who are living under a rock, I bring you the most amazing lip products you will ever find.
I was so proud of myself for not buying the enitre website, but now I regret it, because they are sooooo good!!!!! Ladies, these are better than MAC lipsticks. Yes, I said it, BETTER THAN MAC! Can you believe it?!?!? For 1/3 of the price you can own lip products better than beloved MAC cosmetics.
I picked up 3 lippie stix, of colors I did not have in my collection, and I suggest you do the same, before going crazy on the website.

The three colors I got are Cake, Scandy, and Chi-Chi. I did not notice this until I received them, but they are all satin lippie stix. The perfect combo between matte and glossy lips.

I always love buying products that are made here in the USA #winning

Most lip products that have the color on the outside of the tube are not always accurate, but these colors are spot on, *cue the applause.*
Cake, is a beautiful bright peachy pink color
Scandy, is a bright, vivid neon pink (a dupe for MAC Candy Yum Yum!)
Chi-Chi, is a gorgeous blood orange

And I can't forget to talk about the packaging. Unlike ordinary lip sticks, these are tall skinny sticks, with a round applicator, perfect for getting the cupids bow and outer corners of the lip. They also have a snap on cap, that won't fall off if they are in a makeup bag or purse.
